Have you ever noticed how quickly something gets your attention when it’s different?
A conversation just feels a little off.
Someone reacts in a way you weren’t expecting.
You walk into a room and immediately sense that something has changed.
It’s interesting how quickly we notice those moments.
But what about all the things that don’t get our attention?
Most of the time, we don’t even think about them.
We simply expect them to be there.
I wonder if our bodies are a little like that.
Most days, they simply do what they’ve always done.
Breathing.
Balancing.
Moving us from one place to another.
We hardly think about any of it.
Until, one day, they ask for our attention.
I wonder if that’s just how our attention works.
Not because we’re looking for what’s wrong.
Maybe change simply stands out.
Everything else just keeps doing what it’s always done.
Maybe that’s one of the stories our bodies have been telling us all along.
Not just about health…
but about life.
Every once in a while…
something catches our attention.
And for just a moment…
we see what had been there all along.
I wonder how many of the things that make today possible…
…we’ll only notice when something changes.
About Our Body’s Story: We’re excited to introduce The Body’s Story, a weekly series from Cornerstone Clubs. Through reflective, story-driven posts, we explore how your body responds to movement, rest, stress, and daily habits—and what you can learn when you pause long enough to listen.
